Important Change in Timeline for Opening

We want to thank you so much for your support and for believing with us in this mission to help women in need.
This is an important change to our timeline for opening Sacred Heart Ranch so please take a minute to read it through.

When Pete and I came up with the idea for Sacred Heart Ranch, we were in the midst of the pandemic lockdown and trying to decide how we wanted to spend our years during the second half of our lives. Neither of us are the type to "retire" as long as there are people who need help and we had resigned ourselves to the reality that we were not going to be parents or grandparents. We began fundraising and working toward our vision of building a Ranch to help young women meet their full potential. Eighteen months later, circumstances dramatically changed as we were blessed beyond measure when we were given the opportunity to adopt a daughter. This was a blessing and a challenge as we were forced to make many changes to our priorities.

We have always believed that God and Family come first, so naturally we had to adjust priorities based on new life circumstances and SHR had to take a backseat to being parents.

Over the past two years it has become increasingly obvious that that we could not devote the needed attention to development and fundraising for SHR. Raising our daughter is a full-time endeavor and currently takes precedence over trying to raise money to build SHR. Consequently, we have made the difficult yet necessary decision to put SHR on hold until our daughter completes her high school education.

Currently, all donated funds are invested in attractive growth CDs and we will maintain these funds in safe fixed income instruments to preserve the capital. It is important to note that we have not given up on our plan, only postponed it.

While we will temporarily suspend our active fundraising, our goal is to return to active fundraising a few years from now, and God willing, have SHR up and running within a few years after. During this pause, we will continue to look for possible locations. We will keep the website updated yearly with any pertinent news.

Thank you for your continued prayers and support. We look forward to the future and ultimately being able to help young women in need.

Gratefully,

Jaime Espil
